Lodged by Robert Frost

My English teacher, Ms Cotter (my most favourite teacher ever!!) gave us this poem yesterday:

Lodged

The rain said to the wind,
'You push and I'll pelt'.
They so smote the garden bed
That the flowers actually knelt
And lay lodged, though not dead.
I know how the flowers felt.

Robert Frost

This is now one of my favourite poems.

I you liked that poem you might like the works of William Carlos Williams. This is my favorite of his:
This Is Just To Say

I have eaten
the plums
that were in
the icebox

and which
you were probably
saving
for breakfast

Forgive me
they were delicious
so sweet
and so cold
